David Jones (athlete)

David Jones (David Henry Jones, born March 11, 1940, in Brookmans Park, Hertfordshire) is a former British sprinter.

At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he reached the semi-finals in the 100 meters and 200 meters the quarterfinals. In the 4 x 100 - meter relay team, he won the British team in the occupation of Peter Radford, Jones, David Segal and Nick Whitehead the bronze medal.

In 1962 he was at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade over 200 meters and took fifth with the British quartet bronze in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. In the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth in the same year silver was followed over 220 yards and gold with the English team in the 4 x 110 yards relay.
