David Sacco

David Sacco ( born July 31, 1971 in Malden, Massachusetts ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who was active during his active career, among other things, for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the National Hockey League. His older brother Joe was also active in the NHL.

Career

David Sacco began his career in high school at the Medford High Mustangs, for which he was active from 1987 through 1988. He then went to Boston University and played in the next five years in the hockey team of the Boston University Terriers in the Hockey East. During this time, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1988 in the tenth round in a total of 195 position of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the 1993/94 season Sacco completed his first few games for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League and scored in four games, two points scorer. In the same season, the attacker was also in five games for their farm team, the St. John 's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League action in five games played, while a total of four points.

September 28, 1994 Sacco was delivered in a barter to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, in return, Terry Yake went to Toronto. The offensive player spent most of the season with the San Diego Gulls of the International Hockey League, scoring here with 40 points in 49 games to the service providers of the team. In the 1995/96 season Sacco received more ice age when the Mighty Ducks and completed 23 NHL games in which he scored 14 points. In the same season he was also at the Baltimore Bandits of the American Hockey League action. After his contract was not renewed at the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Sacco signed on 6 September 1996 as a free agent with the New York Islanders. Since he was denied the renewed jump to the NHL, the right-handed shooter spent the season with the Baltimore Bandits. For the 1997/98 season he signed with SC Bern of the National League A. After he had scored in 16 games total 17 points for the Bernese, Sacco still finished in the calendar year 1997 his active career.

Internationally

Sacco participated with Team USA at the 1993 World Championships. He also represented his country at the Olympic Winter Games 1994.
