David Schnitter

David Bertram "Dave" Reaper ( born May 19, 1948 in Newark, New Jersey ) is an American musician ( saxophone, and occasionally flute, vocals) of modern jazz that is deeply entrenched in the black tradition. Life and work

Reaper, who as a child had clarinet lessons and fifteen years in addition learned tenor sax, studied at Jersey City State College Clarinet. He began as a dance musician, played with rock bands and then moved to New York, where he appeared with Ted Dunbar, and from 1972 with its own group. He played with Joe Newman, Frank Foster, Howard McGhee and Wilbur Little.
