David Shutt, Baron Shutt of Greetland

David Trevor Shutt, Baron Shutt of Greetland, Stainland and Greetland of in the County of West Yorkshire OBE PC ( born March 16, 1942) is a British politician of the Liberal Party and now the Liberal Democrats, the seven times unsuccessfully for elected to the House of Commons candidate and is a life peer member of the House of Lords since 2000.

Shutt, who is a professional accountant, began in the early 1970s, his political career in the Liberal Party and was a candidate in the constituency of Sowerby in the general election on June 18, 1970, February 28, 1974, October 10, 1974 and May 3, 1979 in each case without success for a seat in the House of Commons.

In the meantime, however, he was first elected in 1973 as a member of the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale and this was initially until 1990.
