David Vála

David Vála ( born April 17, 1978 in Liberec) is a Czech wrestler. He was Vice-European Champion 2007 in Greco-Roman. Style in the heavyweight (up to 120 kg body weight).

Career

David Vála began as a teenager with the rings. At a size of 1.90 m using as he grew into a handsome heavyweight and weighs about 110 kg. David Vála wrestles in the Czech Republic for the Sports Club PSR Olymp Prague, where it is coached by Erwin Varga. In addition, for many years he wrestles already in the 1st or 2nd German Bundesliga. First, for the 04 SV Germania Weingarten and from the 2008/09 season for the RV Thalheim. He is a police officer. David Vála struggled initially in the Greco- Roman style. Since 2007 he tried, even at international championships, also in free style.

The international career of David Vála began in 1995, when he arrived at the Junior European Championship ( Cadets ) in Witten in the weight class up to 88 kg on the 13th Place. The greatest success at junior level he scored then in 1997, where he finished at the Junior World Championships in Turku in the weight category up to 115 kg body weight the 5th Place and in 1998, where he at the Junior European Championships in Tirana 4th Place and at the Junior world Championships in Cairo came even to 3rd place and so won a bronze medal.

In the senior David Vála starts since 1997 regularly at international championships. He scoring during the Euro 2000 in Moscow, won the Alexander Karelin from Russia, with the 5th place in the heavyweight division (then up to 130 kg body weight) His first good result. For its first participation in the Olympic Games in Sydney he reached a good 9th place. He defeated it Sitnik Marek from Poland and lost to Yuri Ewseitschik from Israel and Fatih Bakir from Turkey.

In the years 2001 to 2003, he did not reach top positions. But at least he could qualify for participation in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens again. He finished there in the heavyweight division after losing to Chassan Barojew from Russia and Andrei Czech Frankowski from Belarus on the 14th Place.

At the World Championship 2005 in Budapest David Vála reached with a win over Sergio Primeno from Venezuela the 9th Place and in the 2006 World Cup in Guangzhou, he came with a win over Michael Taut from Canada on the 8th Place.

The greatest success of his career, then he scored at the European Championships in 2007 in Sofia. He was there with wins over Matti Hämäläinen, Finland, Panagiotis Papadopoulos, Greece and former European champion İsmail Güzel from Turkey and a defeat against Chassan Barojew European vice-champion.

Also at the 2008 European Championships in Tampere he could convince a good 5th place. He won in Tampere against the much -time Vice World Champion and former European champion Mihaly Deak Bárdos from Hungary, Ivan Ivanov of Bulgaria and Alexander Tschernetzki from Ukraine. Defeats he had to suffer from Khasan Barojew and in the fight for the bronze medal by Attila Güzel from Turkey.

For the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, David Vála could, although he participated in three qualifying tournaments do not qualify.
