Kuramagomed Kuramagomedov

Kuramagomed Scharipowitsch Kuramagomedow (Russian Курамагомед Шарипович Курамагомедов; born March 21, 1978 in Makhachkala, Dagestan ) is a Russian wrestler. He was world champion in 1997 and European champion in 1999, 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007 freestyle super heavyweight.

In Russia he has with Biljal Machów, the 2007 world champion, one of his closest rivals.

In the years 1995 and 1996 Kuramagomedow was twice European Junior Champion and one junior world champion.

  • 2003 17th Place, WM in New York, FS, up to 120kg, after a victory over Bojidar Bojadijew, Bulgaria and a defeat against Artur Taymazov, Uzbekistan
  • 2004, 2nd place European Championships in Ankara, FS, up to 120kg, after beating David Otiasvili, Georgia, Boris Grinkewitsch, Belarus and Sergei Pryadun and a defeat against Polatçı Aydın, Turkey
  • 2005, 1st place European Championships in Varna, FS, up to 120kg, after victories over Radoslaw Jankowski, Poland, Francesco Miano - Petta, Italy, Efstathios Topalidis, Greece and Wadym Tassoew
  • 2005 5th Place, WM in Budapest, FS, up to 120kg, after victories over Maksim Michailewitsch, Belarus, Hisham Abdelmoamen, Egypt and Fardin Masoumi Valadi, Iran and defeats Polatçı Aydın, Turkey and Tolly Thompson, USA
