Action

Evie Jackson works in a post office in a small town. The staff is known as rude and therefore not very many friends. To attend a seminar, Evie travels to New York. In the hotel, she met the seller Cards Harry Mork know. Harry is friends with the widow and Phyllis would be to soon settle down.

How many other men also gives Harry Evie little attention. However, after a miserable verlaufenen appointment with the newswoman June he accepts Evie's invitation to a party. Phyllis visited Harry in New York. She looks up with Harry the new apartment to where Phyllis now son Patrick learns along with his friend Zola. Phyllis learns that her son would remain. Phyllis has no more desire on the budgetary and would rather stay in a hotel where you will be taken off the job. Harry realizes that Phyllis only wants to marry him, to want to escape these duties and the education of her son. Harry leaves Phyllis and hurries to the station to prevent Evie's departure.

Bosley Crowther was from the New York Times, the film is stale, dull and humorless arrogance to what dared to describe as " serene and sophisticated comedy" producers.

Awards

In 1965, the song Dear Heart, composed by Henry Mancini and written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, nominated for Best Song for an Oscar.

The song also received a nomination for Best Original Song. Another Golden Globe nomination, there were in the category of Best Motion Picture ( Drama ).
