Dennis Kelly

Dennis Kelly ( born November 16, 1970 in Barnet, London ) is an English writer for theater, radio and television.

Life

Kelly grew up in Barnet on in an Irish family and was raised Catholic. His father was a bus conductor and had five children. Kelly left with 16 years of school. The influences of the district in which Kelly grew up, namely a housing estate owned by the city ( council estate ), Kelly describes as very stimulating by the different people and layers he encountered there.

Kelly worked in supermarkets and joined a theater enthusiastic youth group, the Barnet Drama Centre. In the following years he earned a degree in the fields of drama and theater and got an award from Goldsmiths College of Fine Arts of the University of London. Kelly wrote his first piece of debris at the age of 30 years.
