Dennis Saikkonen

Dennis Saikkonen ( born November 27, 1992 Bern ) is a Swiss professional ice hockey goaltender with Swedish and Finnish passport, who plays for the GCK Lions in the Swiss National League B since 2012.

Career

Saikkonen spent his time mainly juniors at SC Bern, however, was during the 2008/09 season also in the junior division of the SC Lyss in use. After it had selected Brampton Battalion of the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League in the CHL Import Draft 2010 in the second round by a total of 83 position, he graduated from in the season 2010/11 a total of 13 OHL games for the team.

Then came Saikkonen back to the youth program of the SC Bern and received in the U20 selection in the city Berner at the elite A-Juniors more match practice. During the 2011/12 season Saikkonen was awarded to HC Sierre of the National League B. For the Welsh Saikkonen debuted in the second highest Swiss league and completed a total of 11 appearances for the club before returning to the U20 Juniors of SC Bern.

In April 2012, he received a one-year contract duration in the GCK Lions who loaned him in January 2013 for four games at the HC Thurgau. In addition, Saikkonen was eligible to play for the ZSC Lions, but did not play.

Internationally

At the international level represented Saikkonen multiply the Swiss U16, U17, U18 and U20 youth teams. For the U18 World Youth Championship 2010, he was appointed to the cadre of the Swiss national team and made in the course of the tournament, in which Saikkonen two meetings attended, along with Lukas Meili the Torwartduo the Confederates.
