Denver Pop Festival
The Denver Pop Festival was held from 27 to 29 June 1969 at Mile High Stadium instead, just two months before the Woodstock Festival. There were so known rock stars like Frank Zappa, Johnny Winter and Jimi Hendrix. The event was Barry Fey. Admission was $ 6 per day, $ 15 for all three days. The number of audience is estimated at 50,000.
During the festival, there was a riot outside the stadium. Demonstrators demanded free entry and tried to break through the gates. The Police used tear gas, which provided temporarily at the stadium for unrest.

Notes to the festival
The Jimi Hendrix Experience had on the Denver Pop Festival their last gig together.
Frank Zappa used the audience as a "musical instrument" He divided the audience into different sections, which he different sounds and gestures had made to their specifications.
On Sunday there was free admission, after all tickets were sold.
