Denys Fisher

Denys Fisher ( born May 11, 1918 in Leeds, England; † 17 September 2002 in Furness, England ) was an English toymaker and game designer.

After studying mechanical engineering at the University of Leeds Fisher was employed by the family-owned company Kingfisher, before he made ​​his own in 1960 in Leeds with the company Denys Fisher Engineering. In the new company, he developed a bomb detonators for NATO. In 1962 he invented again (after Bruno Abakanowiczs invention of the same in the 19th century) the children's toy Spirograph, which he patented in 16 countries and 1965 presented at the Nuremberg Toy Fair.
