Guitarist Rascon gave Butler lessons in the game of bass, while Butler in turn taught him motorcycling. A little later met Dennis Butler, the singer Dawn Crosby and a friend of hers guitarist Eric. Together they formed the band Majesty. Together they played on weekends at parties mostly cover versions of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Ramones. Beginning of 1980 rose Rascon from the band in order to devote himself to school. Dawn was in a band called First Attack in London and then in mid-1983 together with Butler in the band. In 1984, this band split again and the two formed the band Détente. Jim Tutone played by the electric guitar and Rob Farr bass.

In April, the band recorded their first demo. Although the songs of guitarist Jim Tutone came was already heard on the demo Fred Rascon in his place, because he had left along with Rob Farr the band. Rascon also left the band a short time later. Dennis Butler and Dawn Crosby occupied the band from scratch, so next to them now the guitarist Caleb Quinn and Ross Robinson and bassist Steve Hochheiser in the band were.

This was followed by some performances, and the recordings for the next demo. Thus, the band reached a deal with Metal Blade Records (U.S.) and Roadrunner Records (Europe). An alternate version of the song was included on the Widows Walk compilation Metal Massacre VII by Metal Blade in 1986.

The band played a few gigs in the San Francisco Bay Area, until it finally came to a physical confrontation with Megadeth and Dark Angel, which the band was banned from performing. After that, the band began work on the album Recognize No Authority that produced by Dana Strum and in the recording studio in Los Angeles in the recording studio Baby O's was taken. Dawn went on a tour of Europe. Hochheiser and Robinson formed the band Catalepsy. As new members then guitarist Greg Cekalovich, bassist George Robb came (ex - Agent Steel ) and guitarist Michael Carlino to the band. In March 1987, the band played a concert in San Francisco, where Cekalovich at this concert could not attend because he was prevented by a conflict with the law. This later left with Robb short time the band again. The band then decided to continue with only one guitarist. Blair Darby, a friend of guitarist Carlino, came as the new bassist for the band.

After that the band was working on another demo, which should be published in 1989. In the work on the demo, there was a dispute between Michael Carlino and Dawn Crosby. Drummer Dennis Butler played his last concert in Los Angeles and was subsequently replaced by Rob " Wacko " Hunter (ex -Raven ). In addition, Butler Crosby divorced again.
