Devon van Oostrum

Devon van Oostrum Doekele (born 24 January 1993 at Groningen, The Netherlands ) is a British professional basketball player. Van Oostrum came early with 16 years in the training program of the Basque club Saski Baskonia, from which he was loaned to various unterklassige clubs in Spain. After he was also active for England youth teams before, he made his debut in 2011 in the British men's national team. In February 2013 he returned to Saski Baskonia, replacing Carlos Cabezas in the squad of the club in the Spanish top league ACB.

Career

Van Oostrum went to Sheffield in the " Silverdale School " to school and played until 2009 in the youth teams of the Sheffield Sharks, whose men's team plays in the top domestic league championship British Basketball League. In the U16 European Championship Division B 2009 he returned to average 21 points, seven rebounds, nearly six ball gains over four assists per game a " complete package " from and led the English selection, which narrowly missed promotion to the Division A, to third place before the Slovenian junior. After the premature end of the contract of Carlos Cabezas for Laboral Kutxa, the new sponsors name Erstligamannschaft of Saski Baskonia, in February 2013 then van Oostrum rose to the ACB league by being included in the squad of the Spanish giants.
