Diamond Life (English, about: " luxury living") is the title of the debut album of the English band Sade to the Nigerian- British singer Helen Adu Folasade.

The recordings for the nine titles under the producer Robin Millar began in 1983 in the Power Plant Studios in London. The album, which is regarded as a stylistic example of the mid-1980s emerging "Sophisticated Pop ", also contains a remarkable cover version of the song " Why Can not We Live Together" by Timmy Thomas from the year 1972.

" Diamond Life " was released on July 16, 1984 by Epic Records in the UK and on July 21, 1984 in Germany. In the U.S., Portrait Records brought the album only on 23 February 1985 to the market. The first single in Europe ( " Your Love Is King" ) was published on 25 February 1984 in the U.S., " Hang On To Your Love " was released on 8 December 1984. Moreover, even the title "When Am I Going To Make A Living" ( May 1984) and " Smooth Operator " ( September 1984 ) were released as an internationally successful single.
