Richard Lee bass ( born March 15, 1937 in Georgetown, Mississippi, USA, † February 1, 2006 in Norwalk, California ) was an American football player.

Dick Bass studied at the University of the Pacific and was a player in the college football team of the University, the Pacific Tigers. In 1959 he was drafted in the first round by the then Los Angeles Rams, for whom he played from 1960 to 1969 and was nominated three times for the Pro Bowl. He was the first running back with more than 1,000 yards in a season with the Rams. His nickname was The Scooter.
