Diego Ibarra Municipality

Diego Ibarra is a district ( municipality ) in the state of Carabobo in the north of Venezuela.

It has an area of only 79 square kilometers. Diego Ibarra is bordered to the north and east by the state of Aragua with the National Park Henri Pittier, the coastal mountains and the districts Mario Briceño Iragorry and Girardot; in the south it borders on the Valenciasee and to the west by the San Joaquin County in the west.

Diego Ibarra was founded as a church ( Parroquia ) on December 3, 1781 and raised on 13 August 1981 for the municipality.

According to the 2001 census, Diego Ibarra had about 94 852 inhabitants.
