Dieter Gieseler

Dieter Gieseler ( born January 10, 1941 in Münster, † February 8, 2008 in Amelunxen ) was a cyclist from the Federal Republic of Germany, the 1960 Olympic silver medalist in the 1000 -meter time trial.

Dieter Gieseler came to cycling by his brother Edi, who was a professional cyclist since 1 October 1954 and took in the six- day race as a duo. Training was Dieter Gieseler by Gustav Kilian. In 1960 he became German champion in 1000 -meter time trial. At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he ran a personal best of 1:08,75 minutes.
