Dietmar Beiersdorfer

Dietmar Beiersdorf ( born November 16, 1963 in Fürth ) is a former German football player. He is the current sports director of Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Career as a player

In his youth, played the Franke at TSC Cadolzburg, the TSV Altenberg, the ASV Herzogenaurach and 1 FC Bamberg. In 1985 he joined the then- Oberliga side SpVgg Fürth, before he was discovered there by the Talentsichtern of Hamburger SV. The North German tradition club attracted the aerially strong defender in 1986 together with his team-mate Manfred Kastl at the Waterkant, where Beiersdorf instantly won a place in the team of coach Ernst Happel and on 20 June 1987 with the HSV DFB Cup 1987 won. In the 3-1 win against Stuttgarter Kickers Beiersdorf even counted among the scorers.

By the summer of 1992 Dietmar Beiersdorf played 174 times for Hamburg in the German Bundesliga, where he scored 14 goals. For financial reasons, the HSV sold it then to the north- rivals Werder Bremen, whose jersey he wore 64 times in the Bundesliga until 1996. 1992/93 was the defensive player with the Bremen instantly German champion and 1994 Cup Winners' Cup. But then the kink followed in Beier Dorfers career: Due to injury, he played in the 1994/95 season a single game at Werder and found after his recovery only hard connection. That's why he moved to the winter break 1995/96 to 1 FC Köln, for the 16 games he graduated to the end of the season.
