Dionysius

Dionysius or Denis is a male Greek first name.

Origin and Meaning

It is one of the usual in ancient Greece consecration names given to the infants directly to the protection of a god, in this case, Dionysos, assume (see Demetrios < Demeter; Apollonius < Apollon; Aphrodisios < Aphrodite ). Therefore, the name means " the Dionysian, Dionysus Sanctified ".
