Dipu Moni

Dipu Moni (born 1965 in Dhaka ) is a politician from Bangladesh since 2009 and foreign minister.

Biography

After school, she completed studies at Dhaka Medical College, the first medical training facility in the country, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, as well as at the Johns Hopkins University of Public Health, where she earned a Masters in Public Health. Later she studied law at the National University of Bangladesh, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws ( LL.B. ) and the University of London and completed this with a Master of Laws ( LL.M.). Furthermore, she took courses in negotiation and conflict resolution at the Johns Hopkins University and Harvard University. Upon her return to Bangladesh they received approval as a lawyer and worked in various dishes.

Dipu Moni is the daughter of MA Wadud, a close associate of Mujibur Rahman and Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy. Like her father, she became a leader within the Awami League, which was founded by Rahman, Suhrawardy and her father in 1949 the country's largest historic party. It was not only Secretary for Women's Affairs, but also a member of the Subcommittee on Foreign party. At the same time she was instrumental in the election manifestos of their party, which meant that the Awami League with Hasina Wajed, the daughter of Rahman, between 1996 and 2001 presented the Prime Minister.
