Disques Vogue

Disques Vogue, Vogue Records also, is a French record company.

History

It was founded in 1947 by Charles Delaunay. Originally they specialized in jazz recordings, especially by artists such as Sidney Bechet, Django Reinhardt, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Errol Garner, Gerry Mulligan ( Pleyel Concert) and Roy Eldridge ( Roy Eldridge and His Little Jazz Vol 1). In the late 1950s expanded Vogue in the field of pop music.

In the 1960s, Vogue cooperated with the British label Pye Nixa Records. In 1962 the subsidiary to German Vogue, headquartered in King Winter. Under music producer Hans R. Beierlein, who was involved financially in the company, the label was able to record numerous sales successes in the following years. Among the most successful publications of the German Vogue included, among others Singles by Chris Andrews, Antoine, Petula Clark, Donovan, Andy Fisher, Françoise Hardy, Udo Jürgens, The Kinks, The Rivieras, The Searchers, Sandie Shaw, Pat Simon, Status Quo, Suzie and Dionne Warwick. Some later recordings by Bill Haley appeared in 1969 on the label. The production in Germany was set in 1971.
