DJ Qualls

Donald Joseph " DJ " Qualls ( born June 12, 1978 in Nashville, Tennessee ) is an American actor.

Life and career

Donald Joseph Qualls grew up in Manchester, Tennessee on as one of five siblings. At 14 he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, a form of lymph node cancer. After two years of treatment, his disease is considered prematurely inactive ( remission ) but not completely healed. After studying at the University of London, he returned to his hometown, where he worked in a law firm. During this time he began in a local theater to play and was discovered by the photographer David LaChapelle and Steve Klein. In the aftermath DJ Qualls modeled for Prada, among others.

His film debut in a minor role he already was in 1995 in The Chaos senior trip from the National Lampoon film series. In 1998, he starred in the TV movie Mama Flora 's Family on a novel by Alex Haley. In Road Trip 2000 Qualls as Kyle Edwards had his first major role. Two years later he got the lead role as Dizzy / Gil in the comedy The New Guy. In 2003 he was on the side of Hollywood star Hilary Swank in the movie The Core - to see the inner core.
