Djurgårdens IF Dam

Djurgården Damfotboll is a women's football club based in the Swedish capital Stockholm. Venue is Kristinebergs IP.

History

Älvsjö AIK was before the merger of the more successful club. Since the establishment of Damallsvenskan Älvsjö belonged to the class, while Djurgårdens IF until 1996 managed the climb. The mid-nineties dominated Älvsjö the league and won five championships in a row. 1996 and 1999 managed Älvsjö even the Double. In the years 1999 and 2000 Älvsjö and Djurgårdens faced each in the cup final. The first time Älvsjö won the golden goal, the second time Djurgårdens took his first title.

In the very first season after the merger, the new club dethroned the defending champions Umeå IK. In 2004 they picked for the third time the Double. In May 2005, the club reached the finals of the UEFA Women's Cup against 1 FFC Turbine Potsdam. Both games, however, were lost ( 0:2; 1:3 ), Potsdam won the cup. In February 2007, the club was renamed to Djurgården Damfotboll because Älvsjö AIK is risen to the Norretan, the second- highest division.

In the 2007 season wore with Ariane Hingst first time a German player of the Djurgården jersey. On 1 January 2008 following her Nadine Angerer and Jennifer Meier. New coach since January 1, 2008 Anders Johansson. During the winter break of the season 2008/ 09, however, Ariane Hingst and Nadine Angerer changed back to Germany for the first FFC Frankfurt.

The club wore the majority of the games from 2000 to October 2012 at the places comprehensive Kristinebergs IP. With the affiliation of Elitettan, the team plays their Heimstpiele in r 25,000 places comprehensive Östermalms IP.
