Dmytro Yakushyn

Dmytro Wiktorowytsch Jakuschyn (Ukrainian Дмитро Вікторович Якушин, Russian Дмитрий Викторович Якушин / Dmitri Viktorovich Jakuschin; born January 21, 1978 in Kharkiv, Ukrainian SSR ) is a retired Ukrainian professional ice hockey player who has been working end of his career as a coach.

Career

Dmytro Jakuschyn began his career as a hockey player in Canadian junior Western Hockey League in which he was active from 1996 to 1998 for Edmonton Ice and Regina Pats. Previously, he had been already selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 in the sixth round as a total of 140 players from the Toronto Maple Leafs. For their farm team, the St. John 's Maple Leafs, he ran from 1998 to 2003 in the American Hockey League, whereby he in the meantime in the 2001/02 season at HK Sokol Kiev in the East European Hockey League and HK Donbass Donetsk in the Ukrainian Hockey League was under contract. For the Toronto Maple Leafs of the defenders came in the 1999/2000 season to his only two operations in the National Hockey League.

The 2003/04 season spent Jakuschyn at AaB Ishockey in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen. It was followed by a year at HK Khimvolokno Mogilev in the Belarusian Extraliga, before he again stood in Aalborg in the 2005/06 season on the ice. From 2006 to 2008, the links Sagittarius ever played a game for HK Neman Grodno long time and the HK Keramin Minsk in Belarus, where he became a master with Keramin Minsk Belarusian. The season 2008/ 09 spent the former national player at his former club HK Sokol Kiev, for which he was active in the Wysschaja League, the second Russian league. After one season at HK Gomel in the Belarusian Extraliga, he signed a contract initially for the 2010/11 season at the newly founded HK Budiwelnik Kiev from the Kontinental Hockey League. After he was unable to take up the game operating in the KHL because of delays in renovation of the stadium, he initially remained at HK Gomel, however, changed in the course of the 2010/11 season to the league rivals Metallurg Zhlobin.

Internationally

For Ukraine Jakuschyn participated in the A World Championship in 2000, and the B World Championships in 2008 and 2009 in part.
