Dobrovnik

Dobrovnik ( German: Dobronack ) is a municipality in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia.

Location and population

The village Dobrovnik is located on the border with Hungary in the far northeast of the country in a wine -growing region in Goricko, which belongs to the historic region of Prekmurje.

The municipality comprises the three villages Dobrovnik Strehovci and Žitkovci. They were joined in 1998. It is home to around 1380 people in the municipality, of which 933 in the main town Dobrovnik.

History

Already in 1270, the village was first mentioned. Settled much earlier, as evidenced by finds.

The entire municipality is part of the Three Countries Park Raab Goričko Örseg.
