Dolní Morava

Lower Morava ( German Niedermohrau ) is a municipality with 286 inhabitants ( 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. It is 615 m above sea level. M., 7 km north-east of Králíky, at the border between Bohemia and Moravia and part of the Okres Ústí nad Orlicí on.

The popular ski resort at the southwestern foot of the mountain Śnieżnik was first documented in 1577. A portion is located in the nature reserve Kralický Sněžník. The elongated village lies in the valley of the Morava, which rises in the cadastral territory of Velka Morava.

Districts

The municipality includes the villages of the Lower Morava Morava Horni ( Obermohrau ) and Velka Morava ( Großmohrau ).

Geology

Northeast of wholesale Mohrau there is an occurrence of light marble that has been mined in a quarry under the name Schneeberg marble (Czech: Sněžníkovský mramor ) was a versatile application.
