Domingos Antônio da Guia ( born November 19, 1912 in Rio de Janeiro, † May 18, 2000 ) was a Brazilian footballer, who participated with the national team of his native country at the World Cup 1938.

Career

Domingos da Guia began his career at Bangu AC in Rio de Janeiro, city of his birth. There he remained for three years before he moved on to Nacional Montevideo Uruguay. After only a year there we went on to Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro, but where he again stayed only a year before he went to Boca Juniors from Argentina's capital Buenos Aires. In La Boca, he remained at least two years. Then he joined Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro, where he lived another six years of his professional career. In 1943, he went on to Corinthians in Sao Paulo. In 1947 he returned to his hometown club Bangu AC and finished in 1948 his footballing career at the age of 35 years.

In the Brazilian national football team came Domingos da Guia to 30 missions 1931-1946. Use the Selecao he participated in the World Championships in France in 1938 in part. There, Brazil was eliminated in the semifinals against eventual champions Italy after previously Poland ( after extra time ) and Czechoslovakia defeated ( in a replay ) were.
