Dominik Windisch

Dominik Windisch ( born November 6, 1989 in Brunico, South Tyrol ) is an Italian biathlete.

Dominik Windisch by the military sports club C. S. Esercito belongs since 2008 to the Italian national team, currently the A squad of men. The upper Rasener is younger brother of Markus Windisch, who is also a biathlete. He played his first international race towards the end of the 2006/07 season in the European Cup for Juniors. First major event was the Junior Biathlon World Championships 2008 in Ruhpolding, where Windisch 16 of the Single Page, 26, the sprint and 28th of persecution. With Pietro Dutto and Lukas Hofer he won the bronze medal in the relay race. In the rest of the season followed inserts at the roller ski competitions of juniors at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2008 in Haute Maurienne. In the sprint, he was 15, 22 in the Pursuit competition and with the mixed relay in fourth. A year later he reached at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2009 in Canmore a 16th place in the sprint, number 31 in the pursuit and was seventh in the relay. In 2010 he ran in Torsby sixth in singles, 23 in the sprint, eight in the tracker and came up with the Italian squadron to tenth place.

Since the end of the 2009/10 season Windisch takes with the men in the power range. He enters his first international race here in the context of the IBU Cups of Martell and won the sprint than 13 points and immediately improved in the tracker based on it for the first time in eighth in the top ten. Shortly after he reached fifth of a sprint in Pokljuka his best result so far in the race series. First major event in the men were the Biathlon European Championships 2011 in Ridnaun where Windisch in individual 53 was the 35th in the Sprint Followers 29 and with Daniel Taschler, Rudy Zini and Pietro Dutto seventh in the relay competition. A little later, he debuted in Holmenkollen in Oslo in the Biathlon World Cup and was 63 a sprint race. In the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2011 in Martell, the 22 placements in sprint and with Karin Oberhofer, Alexia Runggaldier and Rudy Zini six were added in mixed doubles.

National won the title in 2010 Windisch in the sprint and pursuit in the juniors. For men 2009 he won the bronze medal in the relay race.
