Donal McKeown

Donal McKeown ( born April 12, 1950 in Belfast) is Bishop of Derry.

Life

Donal McKeown received on 3 July 1977, the ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 22 February 2001 as Auxiliary Bishop of Down and Connor and titular Bishop of Cell Ausaille. The Bishop of Down and Connor, Patrick Joseph Walsh, donated to him on April 29th of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Anthony J. Farquhar, Auxiliary Bishop of Down and Connor, and Giuseppe Lazzarotto, Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland.

Pope Francis appointed him on 25 February 2014 Bishop of Derry. The inauguration took place on 6 April of the same year.
