Giuseppe Lazzarotto

Giuseppe Lazzarotto ( born May 24, 1942 in CARPANE di San Nazario, Vicenza, Italy) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and Vatican Diplomat.

Life

Giuseppe Lazzarotto received on 1 April 1967 the Bishop of Padua, Girolamo Bartolomeo Bortignon OFM Cap, the sacrament of Holy Orders and was incardinated in the clergy of the diocese of Padua. He studied at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome and a doctorate in canon law. In 1971 he entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See and worked for the Apostolic Delegation in Jerusalem in the Nunciatures in Zambia, Belgium and Cuba, and from 1982 to 1984. In the Vatican Secretariat of State, he was responsible for relations with the governments.

On 23 July 1994, Pope John Paul II appointed Titular Archbishop of Numana and appointed him Apostolic Nuncio to Jordan and Iraq.
