Donovan Ricketts

Donovan Ricketts ( born June 7, 1977 in Montego Bay, Saint James Parish ) is a Jamaican football player at the position of goalkeeper. He currently plays for the Portland Timbers in the top division in the North American Soccer, Major League Soccer (MLS ).

Career
Youth
Born and raised in Montego Bay Ricketts began his active career as a player doing some youth soccer club FC Wadadah After his time at the University of the West Indies, he played two years for Village United, before moving to Bolton Wanderers in 2004.
Bradford City
Since he did not get match practice in Bolton, he was loaned out to Bradford City. At his debut at Bradford came in April 2005. A year later he signed a contract with Bradford. Over time, Ricketts was a regular player and played more than 100 games for Bradford City in League Two.
Back to Jamaica
2008 Ricketts returned to his former youth club and played the last five games for Village United in goal.
Major League Soccer
In December 2008, Ricketts signed a contract with Los Angeles Galaxy. Under coach Bruce Arena, he played a successful season and was named the best goalkeeper of the 2009/10 season.
Due to an injury Ricketts was only 15 games in the MLS contest in the 2010/11 season. Ricketts lost as a result of his injury, his place in the starting line-up. On November 28, 2011 Ricketts moved to Montreal Impact. The transfer fee is unknown. There he was first-choice goalkeeper and played 24 games for the Canadians before he moved to the Portland Timbers in August 2012 in exchange for Troy Perkins.
National team career
Rickkets participated in the Football World Cup in 1998, but was not used in any game. Since then, Donovan Ricketts played 84 games for the national team and played in all World Cup qualifier ( 2002, 2006 and 2010) for Jamaica in the gate.
