Dover Township is one of 14 townships of Athens County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 3797 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Dover Township is located in the central northwestern part of Athens County in southeastern Ohio and bordered clockwise to the townships: Trimble Township, Homer Township, Morgan County, Ames Township, Canaan Township, Athens Township, Waterloo Township, York Township and Ward Township, Hocking County.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
