Download-Manager

A download manager or WebGrabber is a program for downloading resources ( such as files or web pages) from the Internet.

He usually offers a number of features that go beyond download capabilities of web browsers. The range of functions usually include:

  • Resuming of interrupted downloads,
  • The possibility of complete web pages with images and full download sites (see also Offline Browser )
  • A scheduler ( Scheduler ) to schedule and automate download starts,
  • So that opened adding multiple sources of the same file multiple connections and possibly the available data rate can be better exploited when downloaded from different servers part of the same file,
  • How to create a download list, ie a list of links to specific files.

The popular download managers are not able to interpret JavaScript-based references (hyperlinks ) and references in CSS files and download them.
