Droszków, Lower Silesian Voivodeship

Droszków ( German Droschkau ) is a village in the powiat Kłodzki in Lower Silesia in Poland. It is located nine kilometers southeast of Klodzko ( Glatz ), whose rural community it belongs to.

Geography

Droszków lies at the western foot of the Reichensteiner Mountains. Neighboring towns are Jaszkowa Gorna the northwest, Skrzynka in the south, as well as Rogówek and Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie in the southwest. To the east of the 425 m high mountain rises Lysy Garb ( Bald Mountain ), southeast of the 697 m high Bzowiec ( Saddle vice Mountain).

History

Droschkau was first mentioned in writing in 1357 and belonged to Glatzer country with which it shared the story of his political and religious affiliation from the beginning. The St. Barbara's Church is demonstrated for 1405. It served as a burial church and later became a branch of the Church of Upper Hannsdorf. 1575 belonged Droschkau as a fief of the Georg Daniel on top Hannsdorf. Since this 1578 died without bodily heirs, were his goods as a completed fief to Emperor Rudolf II as the then Count of Glatz. He sold in 1579 Droschkau (without the Freirichtergut ) together with Upper and Lower Hannsdorf his secretary David Kober and gave the possessions at the same time the heritage. 1587 reached the city Glatz to the possessions. After the Silesian Wars Droschkau came together with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia.

After the reorganization of Prussia belonged Droschkau since 1815 the province of Silesia and was from 1816 to 1945 the county Glatz incorporated. February 28, 1874, the rural community Droschkau was assigned to the office district of Upper Hannsdorf. 1939 counted 181 inhabitants. As a result of the Second World War, it fell in 1945 as almost all of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Droszków. The German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. The population fell significantly. 1975-1998 belonged to Droszków Voivodeship Wałbrzych.

Attractions

  • The 1405 mentioned St. Barbara's Church was rebuilt in 1700. The tower with tent roof was rebuilt in 1895. The interior dates from the period around 1750.
  • The shrine of St. John of Nepomuk in front of the church is from 1732.
