Drowning Mona ( Drowning Mona ) is an American detective comedy by Nick Gomez from the year 2000.
Action
Mona Dearly lives in Verplanck (New York). She leaves in the first scene her house and drives off with the car. Your car runs later in the Hudson River, Dearly dies there.
The chief of police of the city, Wyatt Rash, believed that Dearlys car has been tampered with and carry out an investigation. It turns out that many local residents against Dearly were adjusted hostile and come as suspects into consideration. This includes Bobby Calzone, the Dearly on the eve of her death threatened. Calzone is soon to his pregnant fiancee Ellen Rash, the daughter of the police chief to marry. The earlier events are shown in flashback.
Rash promises calzone that he will not betray him. At the end of marriage Calzone and Ellen.
Reviews
James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews, the film was " disappointing tame " and often lame; one could forget him. The director and the screenwriter would incorrectly assume the audience would be interested in the identity of the perpetrator; down the false leads would " dilute" the humor.
The lexicon of international film wrote that the film was "busy remarkable and played " and " pointedly tells ". He may show under the guise of " the crime mystery with quirky humor stupidity, cowardice and hostility of the parties ."

Trivia
Almost all the inhabitants of Verplanck drive a Yugo subcompact of the Yugoslav manufacturer Zastava. Apparently this place was chosen by Zastava as a test community in 1985, and the whole place was inexpensive with Yugos, to test the practicality of Yugos in the U.S. and under the automatic and Road Cruiser spoiled Americans before its launch in 1986. The police, however, of Verplanck moves slightly larger small car type Plymouth Horizon.
