Dub (Prachatice District)

Dub is a patch in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers north of Prachatice and belongs to Okres Prachatice.

Geography

Dub is located on the right bank of the creek at the mouth of Dubský Černý Potok in the hills of the Šumava foothills. North of the village is the Stauweiher Dubský rybnik, behind it stands on a 683 m high hill, the Helfenburk.

Neighboring towns are Javornice in the north, Szczecin and Tourov in the northeast, Borčice and Hájek in the east, in the southeast Dubská Lhota, Chocholatá Lhota in the south, Lipovice the southwest, Újezdec in the west and Tvrzice in the northwest.

History

Dub was first mentioned as the seat of Vladiken Jeník of Borčice documented in 1274. Since 1334 Lhota ( Dubská Lhota ) is supported by documentary evidence; this town was part of his time to stains Bavorov. During the 14th century, the Rosenbergs large areas acquired by Dub. After she had also inherited these from 1351, was Ulrich von Rosenberg in 1355 built a new castle, which bore the name Helfenburg since 1364.

Dub maintained his independence as a country noble residence. Among the owners were, inter alia, from 1608 Pavel Kavka Říčany had it reconstructed the castle the festivals. He was succeeded in 1651 by Miroslav Markvart Hradek. After his death the property was divided and united in 1689 by Karl Philipp Graf von Buquoys again. Subsequently, the owners changed in rapid succession. 1839 Moritz Ritter bought honey from Henikstein Dub, which was a separate municipality after the abolition of patrimonial regimes. The castle remained until 1865 owned by the family of Henikstein that it could transform neo-Gothic style. On October 29, 1869 rose Emperor Franz Joseph I dub the market town.

After the Second World War, the family Bromovský who owned the castle and the associated goods was expropriated. During the reign of the Communists, the castle was owned by the state and was run down. In the 1990s there was a privatization; currently there is a gradual reconstruction. Since 2006, Dub has the status of Městys.

The patch consists of the districts Dub Dub, Borčice ( Bortschitz ) Dubská Lhota ( b Lhota. Dub ) Dvorec ( Dworetz ) and Javornice ( Jawornitz ).
