Due South

Due South or Ironically, Chicago ( Original Title: Due South ) is a Canadian- American television series from the year 1994.

Production

Really just a TV movie was initially planned, but thanks to good reviews and a lively audience interest it was decided to produce a series. The name of the series changed from the second season of Ironically Chicago in Due South, because in between changed the broadcasting rights of RTL II on ProSieben.

The series was discontinued in 1996 after only two seasons of CBS for bad ratings, but the rights resold a year later, so that produced in 1997 with financial support from three European channels, including ProSieben, two more seasons of the popular in Europe Series could.

Action

Constable Benton Fraser (named after the Fraser River in British Columbia) studied ( named after John Diefenbaker ) for the murderer of his father in the big city of Chicago with his wolf Diefenbaker. Here he soon learns the smart detective Vecchio (David Marciano ), who is helpful to him as a friend in the search for the murderer to the side. Somehow Benton remains in Chicago and dedicated to soon the crime in this city. It becomes clear in an amusing way, that the Canadian Mounties other methods of investigation than the Chicago Police Department.

Background

From the third season was also known as Stanley Kowalski replaced David Marciano as Ray Vecchio Callum Keith Rennie against. This was explained by the fact that Vecchio was used as an undercover agent and Kowalski slipped into its identity and henceforth acted as Vecchio.
