Dumitru Stângaciu

Dumitru Stângaciu ( born August 9, 1964 in Braşov ) is a former Romanian football player. The goalkeeper played 329 games in the Romanian Divizia A and the Turkish Lig 1 as a national player, he participated in the World Cup 1998.

Career

Association

The career of Stângaciu started in 1982 at FCM Braşov in his hometown. There he came to only a few bets and had to deal with his club at the end of the 1982/83 season dismount. In 1984 it undertook record champions Steaua Bucharest. There he stood first in the shadow of Helmuth Duck Adam. Winning the European Champion Clubs' Cup, he experienced from the bank. Only after Duck Adams career in late 1986, he was the number one goal and won with his club to the UEFA Super Cup. Before he moved to FC Olt Scorniceşti due to the commitment of Silviu Lung in the summer of 1988, he won with Steaua four times the Romanian Championship and the Romanian Cup three times.

After a year in Scorniceşti Stângaciu returned to Steaua. He was initially the deputy of Lung before he left the club in the summer of 1990. Stângaciu was goalkeeper again and was able to win three more championships and one cup win until 1995. Stângaciu joined the Turkish first division club Vanspor. A year later signed him Kocaelispor, where he won the Turkish Cup in 1997. In 2001, he ended his active career.

National

Stângaciu four times was used in the Romanian national team between 1994 and 1998. He made his debut on 7 September 1994 in the European Championship qualifier against Azerbaijan, he appeared as a substitute in the 85th minute for Bogdan Stelea. Then he did not get more than two years to the course, before he was on 29 March 1997 World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein again between the posts. After two more missions in friendly matches Anghel Iordănescu he was nominated for the FIFA World Cup 1998 in France, where he did not, however, was used.

Coach

After the end of his active career Stângaciu worked in Russia as an assistant coach Dan Petrescu - first from 2010 to 2012 for FC Kuban Krasnodar, beginning in 2012 when FK Dynamo Moscow.
