Durarara!!

Durarara! (Japaneseデュラララ!, Dyurarara! ) is a light novel series of the Japanese authors Ryogo Narita. The first volume of the series was published in April 2004 by Media Works Dengeki Bunko imprint under the and later continued in the merger ASCII Media Works. The series was adapted as both manga and an anime television series.

Action

The young Mikado Ryugamine wishes to participate in the exciting life of a big city. At the invitation of his childhood friend Masaomi Kida, he goes to a school in Ikebukuro. Soon Masaomi warns him in front of people and groups which were better he should go out of the way. This includes a violent man, an information vendor, and a mysterious gang, the dollar is called. DC on his first day, he manages to take a look at the real protagonists of the action, a headless motorcyclist ( a Dullahan ), who works as a courier for the underground of Ikebukuro.

Formation and Publications

The Light Novel series Durarara! written by Ryogo Narita and used illustrations by Yasuda Suzuhito. Since 10 April 2004, the book series was released by the Japanese publishing MediaWorks. Issues that appeared after April 2008 were published by ASCII Media Works, the company that had emerged from the fusion of MediaWorks and ASCII. In both cases, the issues of ongoing series published under the imprint Dengeki Bunko.

Adaptations

Manga

Based on the written records of Ryogo Narita action Akiyo Satorigi an eponymous manga series. It was from issue 7 /2009 ( 18 June 2009) until 5/2011 (18 April 2011) published within the magazine Gekkan GFantasy, which is published by Square Enix. From issue 10/2011 (18 September 2011) to 2/2013 (18 January 2013) then ran the continuation Durarara! Saika - hen (デュラララ!罪 歌 编). The first manga series was summarized from December 2009 to June 2011 in four anthologies ( tankōbon ), while from the second series to date (February 2013) published two anthologies.

An English version of both series appear at Yen Press since January 2012.

In addition, published on 26 June 2010, the anthology manga Durarara! Anthology Comic Duralove! Contained (デュラララ!アンソロジー コミック デュラ ラブ!, Dyurarara! Ansorojī Komikku Durarabu! ), The short stories of different mangaka.

Anime

Based on the novel series produced the animation studio Brain's Base, directed by Takahiro Omori an anime television series. The character design designed Takahiro Kishida based on the original drawings of Suzuhito Yasuda. The artistic direction took Akira Ito, Akira Takata initiated during the animation director.

The series began on 8 January 2010 after midnight and so on previous TV day on MBS, where with 24 episodes it ran until 25 June 2010. The TBS and Chubu- Nippon Broadcasting also began a few days later with the broadcast. In parallel, the series was offered with English subtitles on Crunchyroll as a stream. The later Blu- Ray or DVD release contained two additional episodes 12.5 and 25

In Europe, the series of Beez Entertainment has licensed and is ve sold from January 2011 with German subtitles by Al! .

The opening credits of the series was for the first half of the series entitled Uragiri no Yuyake (裏切り の 夕焼け; 12th place on the Oricon charts ) highlighted, which was interpreted by Theatre Brook, and then with Complication (コンプリ ケイ ション; 11th place ) ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D of. The music credits was only Trust Me ( # 10 ) by Yuya Matsushita and then Butterfly ( # 15 ) ON / OFF.

On March 16, 2014 Game Festival in Tokyo 's Akihabara district has announced a second season for the annual Dengeki. With the second season Shuka will also be changed to the new animation studio Studio.
