Džemaludin Mušović

Dzemaludin Musović ( born October 30, 1944 in Sarajevo ) is a former Yugoslav football player and current Bosnian football coach.

Playing career

Musović began his playing career at FK Sarajevo. He made his debut in 1965 in the Yugoslav national team, for whom he played ten games until 1968, scoring two goals. In 1966, he was with Hajduk Split Cup winner.

In 1972 he moved to Belgium Standard Liège, where he scored 24 goals in the next two years in 58 league games.

From 1975 to 1978 he made ​​his career in France in LB Châteauroux and FC Valenciennes finish.

Coaching career

His coaching career began Musović at small clubs in Bosnia - Herzegovina. His first success was the promotion to the 1st League of Yugoslavia with Celik Zenica in 1986.

In 1988, he took over his hometown club FK Sarajevo, where he was active in the following two years. At the same time he was under Ivica Osim Assistant coach of the Yugoslavian national teams. The sporting highlight of this time was reaching the quarter- finals of the World Cup 1990.

After the World Cup Musović went to Qatar and coached there until 1995 teams FC Qatar, Al -Sadd and Al -Arabi. 1995/96 he trained in the United Arab Emirates, the team of Al- Jazira Club. After the Yugoslav civil war had to end in 1996, he returned to his home and worked until 1998 as sports director in the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 1999 Musović returned back to Qatar. In 2000 he won the championship with Al Sadd and the Emir Cup. 2002 and 2004 he won the Qatar SC in the Crown Prince Cup and 2003 in the championship. 2002, 2003 and 2004, he also was elected coach of the year in Qatar.

In August 2004 Musović broke the Frenchman Philippe Troussier from as team manager of the national team of Qatar and won the Gulf Cup immediately. At the Asian Games in December 2006 he won the gold medal with the Qatari team.

However, after the Qatari team failed both the Gulf Cup as well as the Asia Cup in the first round Musović was released in July 2007.
