Ostluwu ( Indonesian: Luwu Timur ) is an administrative district ( kabupaten ) in the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The district is part of the province of South Sulawesi. Here live 242 882 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Ostluwu has an area of ​​6944.88 km ². Capital is Malili. The area includes several large lakes of tectonic origin. The five largest lakes are Danau Matano ( with an area of ​​245.70 km ²), Danau Mahalona (25 km ²), Danau Towuti ( 585 km ²), Tarapang Masapi (or Danau Massapi ) ( 2.43 km ²) and Danau Lontoa (or Wawantoa ) (1.71 km ²).
