Takalar Regency

Takalar is a district ( kabupaten ) in the province of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The district has an area of ​​566.51 km ² and a population of about 250,000 people. The capital is Pattallassang.

, From 1st July 1922 to 1930 there was a rail link to Makassar.

Takalar was previously sub- municipality of the autonomous region United Makassar along with the other sub- communities Makassar, Gowa, Maros, Those pontoon and Pangkajene. As of February 10, 1960 Takalar has become an independent kabupaten in the province of South Sulawesi.
