East Northamptonshire

East Northamptonshire is a District in the county of Northamptonshire in England. Administrative seat is the town of Thrapston. Other important towns are Higham Ferrers, Irthlingborough, Oundle, Raunds and Rushden.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Borough Higham Ferrers, Irthlingborough the Urban Districts, Oundle, Raunds and Rushden, Oundle and Thrapston Rural District of and part of the Rural District Wellingborough.
