Edgar Pêra

Edgar Pera Henrique Clemente ( born November 19, 1960 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese film director.

Career

Edgar Pera abandoned his degree in psychology in 1981 to study at the film school of the National Conservatory. After graduating in 1984 he wrote for cinema, television and radio, but also for newspapers and advertising agencies. With José Nascimento, he wrote the screenplays for Repórter X (1986) and Mar à Vista (English: " sea view ", 1988), and provided the idea for Manuel Mozos ' TV movie To Passo, Outro Passo e Depois ... (1989 ). According to various video clips and radio formats, and his short film debut at Fantasporto Film Festival in 1990, he turned in 1991 his first feature film.

His following films attracted the attention of film audiences for its highly individual narrative form.
