Edijs Brahmanis

Edijs Brahmanis ( born November 17, 1983 in Riga, Latvian SSR) is a Latvian ice hockey player who is under contract with the Sary- Arka Karaganda HK in the Kazakh Cup since 2011.

Career

Brahmanism began his career in the team of Essamika / Juniors Riga from the Division B of the East European Hockey League. During the current season he moved to Prizma Riga in '83 Latvijas Hokeja Līga for which he stood until 2002 on the ice. Then the striker first went to the North American Eastern Junior Hockey League with the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs and in the season 2002/ 03 to the Valley Junior Warriors.

In 2003 he returned to Europe, where he played for ASK / Ogre in the EEHL and the Latvian league. Here, the left gunner fired in the season 2004 /05 the most goals the league and has been with his team's runner-up. After this success, the Basingstoke Bison committed the Latvians, where he was both the Elite Ice Hockey League and the national cup competition, the Challenge Cup, are used. For the 2006/07 season Brahmanis went back to the Latvian league and rushed there one year for Riga 2000, and again HK ASK / Ogre. For HK Liepaja Metalurgs the striker came in 2008, with whom he reached the Latvian championship and also took in the open Belarusian Extraliga. With 31 goals in 46 games the attacker was top scorer in the league. In addition, he completed four games for Dinamo Riga in the Kontinental Hockey League and was able to score a goal.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season played Edijs Brahmanis for Eispiraten Crimmitschau, but left this in October 2009 and returned to his homeland to HK Liepaja Metalurgs, with whom he again won the Latvian championship in 2011. For the season 2011/12 he moved to the Sary- Arka Karaganda HK from the Kazakhstan championship.

Internationally

First international experience gained Brahmanis in 2000 for the junior selection Latvia, with which he participated in three Junior World Championships. His consistent performances in recent years helped him to be included in the extended squad of Latvian national team. With the team, he played the entire run up to the 2009 World Cup, but did not make it into the World Cup squad.
