Ediz BahtiyaroÄŸlu
Ediz Bahtiyaroğlu ( Bosnian Edis Bahtijarevic; born January 2, 1986 in Novi Pazar, SFR Yugoslavia; † 5 September 2012 in Eskişehir, Turkey) was a Turkish footballer of Bosnian descent.
Career
Clubs
Bahtiyaroğlu played in his youth for Bursaspor and Ankaraspor. In the season 2004/ 05 he was appointed to the first team of Ankaraspor. Shortly before the end of the transfer window, he was loaned to Keciörengücü. He returned after a season back to Ankaraspor and played from then on for the Panthers. In the 2009/10 season Ediz moved on loan to MKE Ankaragucu. There he was taken in the summer of 2010 under contract and hired a few days later at Bucaspor. On January 5, 2012 Bahtiyaroğlu joined Eskişehirspor. There he graduated until his death in 14 competitive games.
National
Ediz Bahtiyaroğlu played from 2006 to 2008 a total of nine games for the Turkish U- 21 team. He made his debut on 15 November 2006 against Denmark.
Since Ediz was Bosnian origin, he is said to have decided after a meeting with the Bosnian coach Safet Susic to want to play in the future for Bosnia. In a television interview Bahtiyaroğlu denied his alleged decision in the future for Bosnia want to play.
Death
On September 5, 2012 Ediz Bahtiyaroğlu died after a heart attack in his apartment.
