Eduardo Davino

Eduardo Davino ( born August 6, 1929 in Naples, Italy, † January 20, 2011 in Rome ) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of Palestrina in Italy.

Life

Eduardo Davino entered the seminary in 1945 in Naples and received in the Basilica of Santa Restituta a priest on July 27, 1952 by Alfonso Castaldo, Koadjutorerzbischof in Naples. After postgraduate studies in theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum in Rome, he completed a PhD Legal studies in Naples. He has also acted as a lecturer at the faculty of theology in Naples and in ecclesiastical courts in Campania. In 1972 he was by Pope Paul VI. appointed to the Roman Rota.

He was appointed by Pope John Paul II appointed Bishop of Ariano Irpino - Lacedonia 1993. The Episcopal ordination on October 9, 1993 gave him the Archbishop of Naples, Cardinal Michele Giordano; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Carlo Furno, Apostolic Nuncio to Italy, and Filippo Giannini, Auxiliary Bishop of Rome.

1997 Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of the company founded in the 4th century, suburbicarian Diocese of Palestrina; He continued his collaboration with the departments of the Roman Curia. During his tenure, parts of the territory of the Territorial Abbey Subiaco were incorporated.

Eduardo Davino was consultant to the Pontifical Council for the Interpretation of Legislative Texts.

His resignation was accepted by Pope John Paul II in 2005.
