Edward D. Head

Edward Dennis Head (* August 5, 1919 in White Plains, New York, USA; † 29 March 2005 in Buffalo ) was Bishop of Buffalo.

Life

Edward Dennis Head received on 27 January 1945 by the Archbishop of New York, Francis Spellman, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On January 27, 1970 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Titular Bishop of Árd Sratha and appointed him auxiliary bishop in New York. The Archbishop of New York, Terence Cardinal Cooke, donated to him on 19 March of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Albany, Edwin Bernard Broderick, and the Koadjutorerzbischof of New York, John Joseph Maguire. On January 23, 1973, he was named Paul VI. Bishop of Buffalo. The inauguration took place on 19 March of the same year.

Pope John Paul II adopted on 18 April 1995, the Head of Edward Dennis put forward reasons of age resignation.
