Edward Ofere ( born March 28, 1986 in Enugu ) is a Swedish- Nigerian football player. The striker moved to Europe in 2005 and has since played in Sweden and Italy. Since the summer of 2012, he is without a club.
Start your career in Sweden
Ofere first played for Enugu Rangers in Nigeria in 2004 and played a friendly match for the Nigerian national team. In 2004, he scored both goals for Enugu with a 2-1 win in the Supercup against the Dolphins FC, but the trophy still went to the Dolphins because the club had already been decided as champion and cup winner country as Supercup winner. September 1, 2005 changed the time of his 19 -year-old winger on loan until the end of the Swedish club Malmö FF. He received in early 2010 Swedish citizenship and was subsequently traded as a potential candidate for the Swedish national team. After an injury in the preparation although he was at the beginning of the 2010 re- fit, but had lost his place.
Change in the Serie A
In summer 2010 Ofere Malmö FF wanted to leave. Initially he stood particularly in negotiations with the Belgian club KRC Genk, but failed, he moved just before the end of the summer transfer window on 30 August to the Italian Serie A newly promoted Lecce. Three weeks later, he made his debut in the 1-1 draw against FC Parma for his new club in the championship, until the end of October, he came regularly used. However, occurred in January knee injury prevented him in his first season in Italy to contest more than eleven league games.
After two years with the U.S. Lecce he dissolved his contract and has been without a club.
