Actually, there is the source of the incident ditch at the foot of the Old Mark head ( 269m ), near the border with Hesse. This upper reaches of the stream leads in the summer but often no water. In some places, then, frequently forms a small rivulet, which immediately seeps into the sandy soil after a few meters back.

Near a refuge in the forest area of incidence ditch, again forms a small stream. There is the case of dry days, the source of the stream. The incidence ditch then flows into a narrow, about eight feet deep gorge, where it flows to its only tributary, a small stream coming from the left. The incidence trench will now face the so-called Klappermühlchen.

The Klappermühlchen

The Klappermühlchen is a Miniaturmühlhaus in Alzenau city forest. It has a small water wheel, which is run by the water power of the incident trench. He is focused on a man-made channel and routed to the mill wheel. This then turns a disc which is studded with figures. Through a window the characters wander inside the cottage. With the help of this disc four tiny hammers are moved, the beat on different metal plates. Due to their different length and thickness is needed for every hammer blow a different tone. The " clack " of the Mühlchens you can hear from several hundred meters away. The mill was built in 1913 and is now maintained by volunteers.
